The International Conference on Organic Synthesis, Balticum Organicum Syntheticum (BOS), has achieved wide popularity in the international chemical community because of its high scientific level of speakers and well-balanced ratio of new, practical and industrial topics related to organic chemistry.
Successful biannual meetings in Vilnius, Lithuania, Riga, Latvia and Tallinn, Estonia, starting in 2000, have proved to be creative forums for new ideas and a significant medium for establishing contacts and starting collaboration.
In 2010 the topic of the Roundtable was “Organic Synthesis, Quo Vadis? ".
According to the participant’s opinions the discussions were very interesting and fruitful.
In 2012 we will focus on the bioactivity of organic compounds, on the selection of synthetic targets and on the possible co-operation of chemists and biologists in finding promising objects for synthesis. The participants of the Roundtable will discuss the hottest topics, latest developments and new approaches in the field.
The Roundtable will be held in Kuressaare, Saaremaa, the most popular holiday resort in Estonia. You are all welcome to join us in Saaremaa during our midsummer's white nights.
On behalf of the organizers,
