Professor Rainer Kattel
Professor Rainer Kattel BA MA PhD (University of Tartu) is Professor of Innovation Policy and Technology Governance and Head of the Program. Professor Kattel is also the Head of the Department of Public Administration. He serves on several national and European (EU, European Science Foundation) commissions in charge of science and research policy and funding, including the Innovation Policy Council. Professor Carlota Perez
Professor Carlota Perez is visiting Professor of Technology and Socio-Economic Development. Perez, who currently resides in United Kingdom, is Honorary Research Fellow at SPRU, University of Sussex, and Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF), University of Cambridge. Perez has held posts in the government of Venezuela, first in the Institute of Foreign Commerce in relation with the technology aspects of the North-South Dialogue (1975-1977), later as founding Director of Technology in the Ministry of Industry (1980-1983). Professor Erik S. Reinert
Professor Erik S. Reinert BA (University of St. Gallen) MA (Harvard) PhD (Cornell) is Professor of Technology Governance and Development Strategies. Hi is a former entrepreneur and since 2000 served as the Executive Chairman of The Other Canon Foundation, a small center and network for heterodox economics research. Reinert's research interests and publications focus around the theory of uneven development and the history of economic thought and policy. His book How Rich Countries Got Rich ... and Why Poor Countries Stay Poor won the Myrdal Prize in economics and the Norwegian Selvaag Prize, both in 2008. As a consultant, Reinert's emphasis is on industrial and economic policy, the preconditions and management of innovations, and the relations between financial and production capital. Dr. Tarmo Kalvet
Dr. Tarmo Kalvet BA MPA (University of Tartu) PhD (Tallinn University of Technology) is a Senior Research Fellow and Co-ordinator of DPA’s research projects. He has served as the founding head of the Innovation Program of PRAXIS, Estonia’s leading policy think-tank, as well as one of its directors. He has taught many graduate and undergraduate courses in innovation policy and related subjects. In his PRAXIS capacity, as well as later on, he has authored and coordinated several important policy papers and analyses. Her research concentrates on the innovation policy issues in the field of high technology (in particular information and communication technology and biotechnology) with an emphasis on the European Union’s New Member States.
