Professor Ahti-Veikko Pietarinen
Professor Ahti-Veikko Pietarinen PhD (University of Helsinki) directs the Chair of Philosophy and currently teaches as a visiting professor at the Centre for the Study of Language and Cognition at Zheijang University in China and as a professor at the University of Helsinki. In his previous career he has worked at the Harvard University as the Houghton Library Visiting Fellow, as a visiting professor at the Kyung Hee University in Republic of Korea and as an adjunct professor at the University of Turku and at the University of Helsinki. Professor Pietarinen’s areas of specialization include Philosophy of Logic & Language, Philosophy of Science, Pragmatism, History of Analytic & American Philosophy and the Philosophy of Mathematics. Docent (Associate Professor) Dr. Leo Näpinen MsC (University of Tartu) PhD (Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Latvian Academy of Sciences) has taught different courses in philosophy and logic at several Estonian Universities (Tallinn Technical University, Estonian Humanitarian Institute, Tallinn Pedagogical University, University of Tartu) and worked as a Researcher and Senior Researcher at the Institute of History and as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of International and Social Studies of the Estonian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Näpinen has been a Member of the International Society for the Philosophy of Chemistry (ISPC) and is a Member of the Estonian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science.
