One of the core strategic values of DPA has been targeted and active internationalization.
- DPA and its staff have been increasingly involved in a multitude of international research projects with the EU (European Commission Framework programs, INTERREG, COST), UN (UNDP most notably), OECD (SIGMA) and the EU's Lisbon Agenda Group.
- DPA is the only academic institution in Europe that has had faculty members on the boards of the two main academic networks of public administration on the continent, NISPAcee and EGPA. Active involvement and cooperation with partners from these networks has enabled the Department to gather competencies for bridging the Western and Central/Eastern European administrative traditions and schools of thought.
- DPA's MA program is part of the European Master of Public Administration (EMPA) consortium together with the Universities of Leuven, Speyer, Budapest, Liverpool, Bocconi, Geneva and others.
- The Technology Governance Master's program is part of the Prime Network of Excellence and its Master-level exchange program, involving collaboration and exchange of both students and lecturers with other European universities (University of Gothenburg, University of Oslo, University of Copenhagen, University of Helsinki etc.).
- The Technology Governance Master's program is offered in cooperation with the European Inter-University Association on Society, Science and Technology (ESST) by providing the possibility for students of full ESST members to carry out their second semester of study at DPA on an exchange basis.
- Through cooperation agreements such as ERASMUS, the students of DPA have copious opportunities to spend a semester or two at some 70 universities in Europe and elsewhere.
- Those students interested in studying at DPA through the Erasmus programme can see the list of courses offered in English at the Technology Governance and/or TUT International Relations Office web sites. For more information about the courses in English contact the DPA International Relations co-ordinator Andreas Sepp.
