On Wednesday, 17 March 2010 at 8.00 GMT (10.00 EET), a well-known Australian professor in computer science Leon Sterling will give an open lecture on the topic “Modelling Software Quality Requirements: An Agent-Oriented Approach” via video conference.
The lecture can be followed from all over the world at http://media.ttu.ee/loeng or mms://media.ttu.ee/loeng
Professor Leon Sterling is currently Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies in Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia.
The lecture is part of the Master-level course “Agent-Oriented Modelling and Multiagent Systems” taught by Professor Kuldar Taveter from the Department of Informatics of Tallinn University of Technology (TUT). The course is based on the joint book “The Art of Agent-Oriented Modeling” by Professors Sterling and Taveter. The book was published in August 2009 by the well-known US academic publisher MIT Press. It addresses the development of information systems that are based on social networks and intelligent agents. The running example used in the book is a system consisting of a popular digital pet Tamagotchi, which originates in Japan, its owner, and other Tamagotchis interacting with the Tamagotchi. The book also provides an overview of several industry-related case studies in agent-oriented information systems carried out in Australia, Finland, and Estonia.
