The inauguration ceremony of new Rector Andres Keevallik will take place on August 30, 2010 at midday at the assembly hall. President of the Republic of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar, members of the Government, rectors of other universities, members of the public and entrepreneurs will be attending the ceremony.

Rector Andres Keevallik will introduce the new developments at the university and the composition of his rectorate: Vice Rector for Research professor Erkki Truve, Director for Administration Heiki Lemba, Quality Manager Monika Ilves, Rector’s Adviser Professor emeritus Rein Jürgenson. Prof. Jakob Kübarsepp will continue as the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs until the end of 2010. Professor Kalle Tammemägi will start as the Rector for Academic Affairs on January 1, 2011.
Rector’s Election Council of Tallinn University of Technology elected Professor Andres Keevallik as the new rector with 148 votes out of 256 on April 23, 2010.
Rector's term of office is 5 years.
