BLRT and Tallinn University of Technology have signed a new cooperation agreement for training specialists for the shipyard. The latest arrangement is much more broader than past agreements, said representatives of the shipyard and university. "Above all, BLRT is interested in obtaining quality specialists in different fields and that we would be a strong partner in research and development,"

Siim Link defended his PhD thesis „Reactivity of Woody and Herbaceous Biomass Chars” on Tuesday, 20.12.2011 at 12.00 in a Room V-215 . Supervisors: Prof Aadu Paist (TUT) ja PhD Stelios Arvelakis. Opponents: Dr Truls Liliedahl (KTH) and PhD Ülo Rudi (TUT).

Peeter Ross from Department of Clinical Medicine of Technomedicum defended PhD thesis „Data Sharing and Shared Workflow in Medical Imaging" (supervisor Prof Ruth Sepper; Co-superv Ass. Prof) successfully on 16th Dec 2011. Opponents were Prof Eliot Siegel, University of Maryland School of Medicine, USA, and PhD Alar Kuusik, TUT Thomas Johann Seebeck Department of Electronics. This was the first defence on new specialisation of Health Care Engineering, covered by PhD curriculum of Mechanical Engineering. Have a look to the photo gallery.
TUT has signed agreement with Skanska EMV AS for designing and construction of V and VI Building.
The construction work was started on 5th September 2011, whereas the estimated deadlines are:
VI Building will be ready by March 2013;
V Building will be ready by March 2014.
