On October 11 at 10:00 AM in Tallinn University of Technoogy, Jason Palmer gave an open lecture How the Science Media Work, and How To Work With Them.
This lecture and discussion was aimed at Estonian early-stage researchers, revealing how research makes it into the media, what pitfalls working with the media presents and how to ensure that research science is presented in the fairest and most accurate way.
Short introduction of the speaker:
Jason Palmer is co-editor of Espresso, The Economist’s daily morning-briefing app. He joined The Economist as a science and technology correspondent in 2014, after a year-long stint as a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT. Prior to that, he spent five years as Science and Technology Reporter for the BBC. He is a former condensed-matter physicist, with a PhD from Imperial College London.
