European Innovation Academy creates new Skypes in 5 days
The European Innovation Academy will be launched on Monday, 21 January at 9:30 AM at TUT Student House.
An international high-tech ground for start-ups, the European Innovation Academy, brings 100 young entrepreneurs from nearly 30 countries to Tallinn and they will develop globally innovative and valuable business models while working in international teams during a week.
The European Innovation Academy will be opened with a high-tech experiment conducted on the Vice Rector of Tallinn University of Technology in collaboration with specialists from the North Estonia Medical Centre Foundation. Vice Rector Alar Kolk will swallow a medical robot in order to have his inwards photographed.
Alar Kolk, the President of the European Innovation Academy and TUT Vice Rector, says that essentially new Skypes are going to be developed. “The Innovation Academy starts with a training of carrying a big black cross, where one learns to put up with failures. All new technologies are extremely risky, including new start-up companies. Additionally, at the beginning of the Innovation Academy, a human being will swallow a robot and its journey in the human body can be seen live.”
Recognised innovation practitioners and theorists, including experts from Microsoft and Samsung, will perform at the Innovation Academy. Once again, Professor Mark Harris, a former head of Intel Higher Education and Research Programmesja praegu InnoVaVentures tegevjuht prof, is in Tallinn and he will speak about innovation, entrepreneurship, and smart business models. Professor Thomas J. Howard will focus on product development. Also, Alar Kolk, a recognised Nordic innovation expert and Vice Rector for innovation and internationalisation in TUT, shares his knowledge.
The winter edition of the European Innovation Academy entertains its participants, for example, with innovators’ speed dating and work group marriages as well as an innovative trial of James Bond. Most certainly, Skype will be also visited. The work process takes place with the help of many screens in the most modern and interactive training room in Estonia, which is built in collaboration with Microsoft and Samsung.
The Innovation Academy brings world-class performers from Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, and USA and local innovation professionals to Tallinn. A hundred talented young people with entrepreneurial spirit from all over the world, including Ethiopia, Bangladesh, China, USA, Indonesia, and, of course, from Estonia will be attending in the training.
