Jun 11, 2 PM in ICT-315 "Multicultural aspects in information systems development"
At Software Science Departmental seminar on Monday, Jun 11, 2018 at 2 PM Hannu Jaakkola (Tampere University of Technology, Finland) will talk about "Multicultural aspects in information systems development".
The seminar will take place in ICT-315.
Currently Information Systems (IS) are developed in increasing amount for global (multicultural, for open access (web IS, mobile), and for unknown clients. Development is done by distributed, multicultural teams or in OSS basis (by loosely networked teams). The product is component based, it includes OSS artefacts andis a part of SOA solutions. The distribution is based on cloud services. Quality aspects, like inteoperability and adaptability have high importance. Systems are going towards complex systems of systems instead of independent IS. Our long term research topic has focused in IS related aspects that vary according to the cultures: General expectations related to IS, DB Structure, Information Search, Web IS design principles, Adaptive Systems properties, UI Design and Web Page Design. The lecture is a short introduction to this important topic area.
