X Oil Shale Conference
The 10th Oil Shale Conference will be held in Kohtla-Järve Culture Center on the 16th November. The conference focuses on the future of science and education in the field of oil shale - "Research-based and educated oil shale industry".
The conference is dedicated to the 100th anniversaries of Estonian Republic, Tallinn University of Technology, oil shale industry and to the 60th anniversary of the scientific- research institute founding in Kohtla-Järve.
The opening speech says Mailis Reps, Minister of Education and Science and Jaak Aaviksoo, Academician, Rector of Taltech. Moderator of the conference is Andres Siirde, PhD Professor and Director of Department of Energy Technology of TalTech.
The first session is dedicated to the science, where the floor will be taken by Alar Konist, PhD Professor in the field of oil shale at Taltech, Erik Väli, PhD Head of Department of Geology at TalTech, Argo Jõeleht, PhD senior researcher at the University of Tartu, Hella Riisalu, PhD senior researcher of Oil Shale Competence Center.
Education in the oil shale sector will be discussed during the second session by Indrek Reimand, vice-cancellor of the Ministry of Education and Research, Mare Roosileht, Director for Development of TalTech Virumaa College, Tiina Drui, HR Manager of Eesti Energia and Meelis Eldermann, Vice Chairman of the Board of Viru Keemia Grupp.

Poster presentions are expected to the Oil Shale Conference to be placed in the foyer of the Cultural Center. More detailed information on poster presentations and registration is HERE.
The conference will be held in Estonian and is free for participants.
