Tallinn Tech Students Participated in an Intensive Training in Silicon Valley
The winners of the MEKTORY business model competition - Alina Kester, Helen Tiitma, Kristjan Ahven, and Märt Lepik - participated in a week long entrepreneurship training in Silicon Valley.
During this week, they visited DataWeek 2012 Conference, Stanford and UC Berkeley universities, Google headquarter and several start-up focused events. The students pitched their winner-project Benefactory, a donation medium for private individuals and NGOs, to potential investors and gained valuable feedback for further model development. In addition, they networked with other talented founders and learned valuable lessons from Silicon Valley luminaries.
The students returned with the understanding that an idea costs nothing; what matters the most is execution. The winners are those who are open-minded and not afraid of failure.
The students’ trip was sponsored by the City Enterprise Department.
More information about the trip can be found here.
Good luck with building their start-up!
