Ton Notermans as a visiting professor of Pusan National University
In the fall semester Associate Professor Ton Notermans of TSEBA’s Department of International Relations is working as a visiting professor at the European Union Centre of Pusan National University (PNU), in Pusan, South Korea. The EU Centre at PNU was founded in 2010, and is jointly financed by the European Commission, the Pusan Metropolitan City Government and PNU. In its brief history the PNU EU Centre has become a crucial hub for strengthening links between businesses, academia and public officials in South East Korea and the European Union. The EU centre provides a range of courses on the EU open to students from all PNU faculties, coordinates the research on EU-related topics, and organises many outreach activities, such as international conferences, business forums, and winter and summer schools that contribute to intensifying the relations between the Republic of Korea and the EU for a wide variety of actors. During his stay Professor Notermans is teaching courses on EU Trade Policy and Social policy in Europe at MA and PhD level, and participates in the Centre’s research activities. This will further serve to strengthen cooperation between TUT and PNU, and will be of particular benefit for the MA and BA programmes in European and Asian-Pacific studies of the Department of International Relations.
