TOEFL ITP® provides a convenient and affordable assessment of English language proficiency for schools, colleges and universities, English language institutes, and government agencies worldwide. Each year more than 1,500 institutions and agencies from around the globe administer 300,000 TOEFL ITP® tests onsite using their staff and facilities.
TOEFL ITP® consists of previously administered TOEFL paper-based tests.
It evaluates nonnative English speakers' skills in three areas, for academic purposes:
* Listening Comprehension — measures the ability to understand English, including short and long conversations and short talks or lectures
* Structure and Written Expression — measures the ability to recognize standard written English
* Reading — measures the ability to read and understand short passages at the university level
TOEFL ITP® is not used for the same purposes as the TOEFL iBT® test.
The TOEFL iBT® test is an official test administered by ETS under secure conditions. Its scores can be used by institutions to make important decisions, such as whether or not to admit a student.
TOEFL ITP®, conversely, consists of previously administered TOEFL paper-based tests that your program administers for its own internal use.
