Lukaš Ustrnul was born in 1987 in Brno, Czech republic. He found his interest in chemistry alredy at fifth grade of primary school therefore it was later instinctive decision to choose this field for university studies. Lukaš gained his M.Sc. and continued in Ph.D. studies under supervision of Prof. Vladimir Sindelar in the field of cucurbiturils and their supramolecular interactions. Also, he spent 3 months on research internship at University of Miami (Florida, USA) in 2013 under supervision of Prof. Angel E. Kaifer. During the Ph.D. he contributed on four peer-reviewed publications and attended two international and two local conferences, on one of them he was awarded by Cori Award for the best oral presentation in Chemistry field.
Lukaš Ustrnul finished his Ph.D. at Masaryk University, Faculty of Science (Brno, Czech Republic) in December 2017. He joined Riina Aav’s group in January 2018 and hi is interested in research of supramolecular properties of host molecules for chirality sensing. He is currently supervising 2 bachelor and one master student.
