I am studying phytoplankton ecology in the Baltic Sea. During last years my research involved studies of phytoplankton deep maxima (mainly formed by Heterocapsa triquetra, Dinophysis acuminata and Mesodinium rubrum), spring bloom dynamics and relative importance of mixotrophy in the Gulf of Finland, influence of coastal upwelling events to the phytoplankton species composition and spatial distribution.
