TTÜ Professor Peeter Müürsepp was a speaker at International Symposium in Beijing
Prof Peeter Müürsepp participated as an invited speaker at the International Symposium on China and the World in the Global Science and Technology on May 30 – June 1 in Beijing. The event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The topics of the Symposium included the relationship between Chinese Science and Technology and world civilization, as well as the related historiography and methodology. It was emphasized that natural science does not have one single beginning but was started in different places in different times. History of Science does not concentrate on the Western World alone. Oriental, especially Chinese, developments have to be accounted for. There was a round table discussion concerning academic journals where Acta Baltica Philosophiae et Historiae Scientiarum, edited by Professor Müürsepp, was singled out.
