Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Must my thesis topic comply one-to-one with the name of the contest category?
No. Within the framework of the contest the curricula are divided into different categories and your thesis will automatically compete in the category which includes the curriculum you study in. For example, if you study in the telecommunications curriculum, your thesis will compete in the hardware category. Although the name of the category is hardware, it does not mean that the theses that deal with software topic are not welcome. All theses defendable under the curriculum of telecommunications qualify for the contest.
What happens if my thesis defence falls on the same day as the contest?
Generally, the IT-faculty institutes have taken into account the dates of the contest when determining the dates of academic defences. However, if the dates coincide, please contact the institute and find out if there is an opportunity to change the date you are supposed to defend your thesis. NB! Making a presentation at the contest could be considered as a "rehearsal" for the academic defence of your thesis.
Can I participate in the competition, when I defended my thesis in the fall semester of the academic year 2014/2015?
Unfortunately no. You are welcome to take part in the competition as an audience member.
